Birmingham's respected Community Club, Continental Star have taken up the challenge of salvaging careers of young footballers rejected from the Academy system. To help them develop the Second Strike project, Leaps and Bounds provided some vital support.

The Second Strike concept is something new and challenging for Continental Star and football's grass roots in general. When the Academy system for professional clubs was instituted, the benefits were obvious and needed.

Nobody wondered what to do about those who didn't make it.

Continental Star and Leaps and Bounds are developing a solution. Whether it will suceed, and source adequate funding support time will tell - watch this space.
